Functional Skills Maths and Functional Skills English are also great if you are looking for more flexibility than a conventional college. Exam based courses have more frequent dates available for sitting your exams, meaning you can complete the course much quicker.
Many employers and higher-level qualification providers look for at least a level 2 qualification in English and Maths. For most students who do not currently have the required GCSE grades, then Functional Skills English Level 2 and Functional Skills Maths Level 2 is the perfect opportunity to allow them to obtain this qualification, enabling them to progress onto employment or further education.
We offer not only City and Guilds Functional Skills but also Edexcel and NCFE as well; to name but a few. This gives you more flexibility with your online learning as it will make it easier to find exam centres in your area.
All of our Functional Skills courses are provided via an interactive online portal, which allows you to work at your own pace. Once you have completed your initial assessment, then a skills plan will be compiled by your Tutor, outlining the areas you need to work through. Once you have progressed to the level required, you will have the opportunity to complete practice exam papers, which will ensure that you are well prepared for your exam. We will then help you with finding a test centre in your area. There is no coursework required for the Functional Skills Level 2 qualification and the exams are structured as follows depending on the awarding body:-
Typically for the Functional Skills English Level 2 exam, there are three exams consisting of a reading, writing and speaking – listening paper. For the Functional Skills Level 2 Maths exam, there will be one paper with two sections (a calculator and non-calculator section).
Exam windows are also more flexible than GCSE exams and you can normally book these quite quickly; additionally, the results will also arrive much sooner than the GCSE exam results. This makes it so much more flexible, especially with our online learning package.
