This Teaching Assistant Certificate Level 2 course will develop your skills and improve career prospects.
As a teaching assistant your duties would be to support teachers with their everyday work in the classroom, so that they can concentrate on teaching. You could possibly have other job titles such as classroom assistant or learning support assistant too. As a teaching assistant you would also support any children that may have individual needs, working one-to-one or in smaller groups. With experience, you may also supervise the class if the teacher is absent for a short period.
In some schools you could have specialist skills to further aid your students, such as literacy, numeracy, Special Educational Needs or Music. Bilingual teaching assistants are often employed in schools with children whose first language might not be English.
There will always be a need for teaching assistants and the job can often be a more personal experience than as a teacher. It is also a vital role in the classroom and with classroom sizes increasing, there is a growing need for more teaching assistants. You will get to work very closely with children and help them better themselves, which you will find is a very fulfilling and rewarding experience!
The course will be delivered by post including Tutor Support for 12 months. All assignments are marked by one of our professional Tutors who will offer regular feedback and guide you through your course. Postal assignments cannot be accepted without prior permission from the tutor and you must have access to email in order to contact your Tutor.
You will be provided with the telephone number for your dedicated Student Support Team who will be available for any other queries that you may have whilst completing your course. You can be assured that you will receive unlimited support for your home study course, so there is no need to struggle or feel isolated during your studies.
You must successfully complete a series of assignments. Once all assignments have been completed satisfactorily, you will then be awarded your certificate. The good news is, there is no final exam.
