This Make-up Artist Level 3 Diploma course willprovide you with all the skills and knowledge needed to become a successful Make-up Artist.
You do not need any previous knowledge to start this course, as we’ll take you right back to basics, covering Health and Safety, anatomy and physiology, applying make-up, photographic make-up and so much more
The Distance Learning Make-up Artist Level 3 Diploma course will teach youhow to transform someone’s appearance and carve yourself a new career at the same time.
If you are currently working full-time, no need to worry because you are free to study in your own time at your own pace as we allow you 12 months to complete your course with unlimited Tutor support. You can study anywhere via our Student Portal and the course will take approximately 120 hours to complete.
The course will be delivered online including Tutor Support for 12 months. All assignments are marked by one of our professional Tutors who will offer regular feedback and guide you through your course. Postal assignments cannot be accepted without prior permission from the tutor and you must have access to email in order to contact your Tutor.
You will be provided with the telephone number for your dedicated Student Support Team who will be available for any other queries that you may have whilst completing your course. You can be assured that you will receive unlimited support for your home study course, so there is no need to struggle or feel isolated during your studies.
Firstly you will start by covering all of the theory needed to prepare you to work with clients, completing assignments which will be marked by your Tutor.
You will then be ready to move on to your Video Tutorials which will give you the opportunity to practice everything you have learned and perfect your skills. You will be set tasks in certain procedures and in order to verify you have carried these out accurately, you will be required to send/email photographic evidence of your work to your Tutor, with contact details for the person you are practicing on.
Once you are ready, we will then arrange for you to attend a day’s practical training, with a choice of various locations (see below). You will be assessed by observation of practical skills during the course together with oral questioning to clarify understanding.
N.B. The practical day is optional but students are encouraged to attend this session.
You will be required to bring your own model on the practical day and they will be needed at various intervals. You will also need to bring a camera in order to take photos of your before and after shots (video cameras are not permitted). All make-up will be provided for you, however if you would like to bring your own professional make-up kit, please feel free. Please wear professional attire.
Any other items required on the day will be provided by Learn Now; these will be made available to you in advance.
It doesn’t stop there! So that you can practice using the best possible products available, we will provide you with a starter kit containing everything you need to complete your assessments
We will also provide you with a DVD that covers 26 different looks including day to evening looks in minutes and smokey eyes.
Your DVD will be of great help to you once you complete your course and start working on paying clients as it will provide you with an abundance of inspiration.

Will I require any previous knowledge to start this course?
You do not need any prior learning knowledge or experience to take this course. This course is openly available to anyone who wishes to take part in a highly rewarding home study course. You have the freedom to start the course at any time and continue your studies at your own pace for a period of up to 12 months from initial registration with the full support of your Tutor.

How many hours should I allow for this course?

Can I complete this course sooner if I wish to?
Yes, you can work at your own pace to complete this course.
At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement from Abstract Education and a Learner Unit Summary (which lists the details of all of the units you have completed as part of your course including practical sessions).
You will also receive a certificate accredited by The Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists worth 12 CPD Points for your practical session. The Level 3 Make-up Artist course has been benchmarked at a level 3 which would give you some indication as to the difficulty of this course. I.e., GCSE would be equivalent to Level 2 and A’ Level would be equivalent to Level 3.
