This AS Level Environmental Science course forms part of the new linear qualifications. This means that students will sit exams for their particular qualification at the end of the completed course in the June series.
AS levels will become decoupled from A’ Levels; this means that they will both become entirely separate qualifications. You will no longer be able to carry forward your AS qualification to the A’ Level qualification and you will sit either AS or A’ Level exams.

AS level consists of one 3 hour exam totalling 100% of the overall AS Level grade.
Please note: Students must undertake fieldwork which meets the minimum requirement of two days of fieldwork for AS. If a mixture of fieldwork and laboratory-based activities is chosen then the equivalent minimum requirement would be one day of fieldwork plus six laboratory-based activities for AS. Assessment of this knowledge and understanding of the practical skills in the AS specification will be by written exams only.
